Testimonials

Here are some things that users of OpenLP are saying:

Just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for a great product. I'm traveling around to small churches helping them upgrade their media environments. With little or no budgets, OpenLP has been a great help. I wish I could capture the look on a pastor's face when I tell him it's a free software. I just wanted to say thanks for what you're doing. It's a huge blessing that is obviously going to reap you eternal rewards.

God bless,
Brian

Hello, I love your software! praise the Lord. The fact that you all are willing to provide this for free is amazing. I do have one suggestion, and if you somehow develop it, I think that it would help openlp become way bigger and more widely in use! Thanks!

Our song books and hymnals are tattered and out of date to the music we want to provide. New hymnals are outdated by the time we buy them, preparing our own means printing endless reams of paper in a time when the environment is already suffering. To help change all this, last week our music ministry unpacked a new data projector and decided to use PowerPoint slides to augment our music. I stumbled across your web site quite by accident, and decided to download your package. By Wednesday I had created the song files for our Sunday service and by Saturday, the entire order of service was ready for its first trial Sunday morning I set the up projector, gave a 10 minute lesson to the young lady who does our overheads, and asked her to play with the program before mass to get a feel for it. Everything went smoothly. She was so excited, the congregation thought it was great, our priest was ecstatic. This is a great product. I just want to thank you folks and God Bless. If I can be of any help please contact me. By the way, I represent the the Parish of Saint Patrick’s RC Church in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada.

OpenLP 1.0 looks Great! It just keeps getting better each time! I wanted you to know that OpenLP 1.0 does not seem to have a problem running on Vista. I ran it and it opened, ran, and closed without any problem.

All the developers at OpenLP are doing a great Job. I will remember to keep you all in my prayers. Have a wonderful Day and may God Bless!

I have been using OpenLP for a couple of years and have experienced its development during this time. I use the program in my church and at the school that I teach in.

The interface is neat and very user friendly. I found it very easy to navigate and despite never having used this type of software before was able to get a service up and running in a couple of minutes once I had installed the program.

Each revision of the software has had important additions and most aspects of running a multimedia church service can easily be done using the software. I have shown video clips, powerpoint presentations, and projected songs with ease and excellent results.

Importing songs can be difficult, but using cut and paste methods, songs can easily be put into the database from internet sources such as SongSelect. They just need a bit of effort, but at the same time you can set them up as you wish. I have tried importing bibles from .csv files and have not been successful, but that might just be my inexperience.

The developers, Raoul and Derek are to be congratulated on producing a fantastic, veratile piece of software. Thanks for the blessing guys.

First of all, I want to say a big Thank You to all of the devs, testers, managers and misc involved in this project. I would love to know how to code so I could help out in this worthwhile endeavor.

I have been using OpenLP.org for over 2 years to display song lyrics, scripture quotes, videos and presentations at my Church in Westchester NY. It has made a tremendous positive impact on our services. The singing has increased tenfold as even those with poor eyesight can clearly see the onscreen lyrics.

I use various videos to help prepare the congregation to be ready to worship, to let them know when breaks are coming to an end and because of the nature of the software, I can use one laptop to present all this and record the sermon and play incidental music when needed.

The GUI is very easy to use and I love how it can be easily resized. Moving the OOS around is easy as is searching for songs using the search engine.

There are improvements that I am looking forward to seeing such as looping videos, motion backgrounds, more control over text layout and format and the ability to autorun the OOS when needed. I know that these are in the works so I am looking forward to seeing them.

I am very grateful that you all see the worthiness of using your talents to serve God.

Using OpenLP.org for our worship has aided greatly in making the service more Spirit focussed and fulfilling for all involved. Please keep up the good work.
