How many users is currently using OpenLP on a regular basis?

You know, as the Project Leader, I certainly would like to know myself! I honestly have no idea how many folks use openlp.org in their churches.

To everyone else reading this forum thread, if you use openlp.org, post a reply and let us know!

Unfortunately it is near impossible to answer such a question. The only information we have is the number of downloads and registered users on openlp, neither are very reliable.

From the SourceForge stats, we can see that version 1.0.1 which was the active version for the longest time (7 months) had 16250 downloads in total. 
We currently average about 100 downloads a day.

Now this website has over 2500 users registered, but again since there is no requirement to use openlp regularly if you register, and no requirement to register if you use openlp, this doesn't really help us.

Also we can't really ask the question "How many of you use openlp regularly", since there isn't any guarantee someone will revisit the website to see the question, and even if they do they may not answer it.

So sorry for the lack of answer,  but with yours and other peoples vocal support the numbers can only increase! We all need to remember to tell friends in other churches, mention it on facebook/twitter/etc, put a link on personal and church websites. The more exposure we get, the more people can find out you don't have to pay lots of money to project words onto a screen. It also means a greater chance of more developers/testers finding us and bringing us closer to v2!

While its impossible to know, it appears that openlp's popularity is on the rise. Judging by interest of people stopping by asking for help and the increase of fans on the facebook page.

Of course, we use it at our church!

We use Openlp at our church. I am in charge of our churches viusals team that handles words etc. We are very happy with Openlp and very much looking forward to deploying version 2 in the near future! I think the best "feature" is the community behind the software, being able to post questions in the forums or pop on to IRC and actually talk to people involved in the development of the software, which is something you don't get with the proprietary (and expensive) packages :)

We use it every week, and for any special services.  I'm looking forward to the mac version too.

Also, I'm in charge of tech for our region and so OpenLP.org was used during our annual session this past September for lyrics projection.   It's simple, straight-forward, and "just works."  That's all I want.

We just use it for lyrics though - we'd use it for video, but our laptop power supply makes our sound system scream when it's jacked in.

Every week at our 10.45 service driving all songs and bible verses.

Once a month at the Kids morning service and once a month at an evening service (Cafe Worship).

we are using openlp.org in my former church in the mid-south of germany (Freie evangelische Gemeinde Herzogenaurach) and have started to use two weeks ago it at my new church where I have moved to about a year ago (mittendrin Freie evangelische Gemeinde Bergneustadt).

my theological seminary (Biblisch-Theolgische Akademie Wiedenest) is using it irregular, since they have a few licences for a proprietary presentation program, but not all worship members have access to the computers, where the software is installed. these use openlp.org aswell.

We're starting to use it from this Sunday.  I'm training the stewards how to use it tomorrow eve having got the NIV and Songs of Fellowship into it.

we use it on a regular basis.  But I am still trying to import NIV.  How did you do that????

I have been wanting to use it for ages but haven't been able to convert our huge library of MS word files into opensong format, until today.

for those who have the same issue - i downloaded two apps. The Opensong importer (www.opensong.com) and then a batch encoder from http://www.softinterface.com/Convert-Doc/.

I used "convertDoc" to convert the doc files to encoded txt, then used the openimport tool to convert them to open song format, then used the openLP import!

We currently use Easyworship at our church because it handles video, does lyrics over video, loops & video backgroundsetc and we do a lot of video stuff with our church (we use a lot of iworship). But have been keeping a keen eye on developments for version 2 and recently recommended this site as a solution to people looking to start/restart churches.

Well we now have the Worldwide Usage map which is starting to get nicely populated.

Our first service with OpenLP (and our new Lyric projection system) was December 20th last year.  We used it for all the Christmas & New year services plus 5 services every weekend.   So far so good!  We are anxious for version 2 to release and stabilize, mainly for the verse/refrain/bridge capabilities and the use of thumbnails in the image library selection. 

I have been using for my church in Ste. Genevieve, Manitoba, Canada, since May of last year. Every Sunday, save for a few where I am unable to attend and get the projector/laptop to my sister who runs it when I am not there.
