Remote Computer Display
I don't know if it has been said before; but it would be cool to have a feature that displays the "screen 2" portion of openLP full screen on a remote computer. For Example, I have a desktop PC with single monitor support in the front beside the projector, and then a desktop in the back (single monitor), where OpenLP is controled. So, OpenLP is controled in the back and it is displayed on the PC in the front via a Local Area Network. If that makes since...
It might be as easy as creating a seprate display client software for the front PC and a plug-in for OpenLP on the control PC in the back. But however it is done, doesn't really matter...
By doing this, it would also enable churches to display their worship service in multiple rooms / places within the church by using the existing wired or wireless networks. It would also help churches who might have 2 PC's without multiple monitors by saving money on additional hardware and video cords being run from front to back...
Just an idea, but it would be extremely nice feature to have...

Re: Remote Computer Display
Yes I agree it would be a nice feature, one day...
Alternatives in the meanwhile:
1. Use software like ZoneScreen which allows a second computer on the network to be used as a second monitor. (Note, I've not tried this, so don't know what performance is like.) This doesn't allow for your multiple room option however. There are commercial alternatives too like MaxiVista
2. Before we got a CAT5 VGA/KVM extender we used to run openlp.org on the computer which was hooked up to the projector, and then remotely operate this computer using VNC. This might also be workable for multiple-room displays although depends on the processing power of the various computers and the speed of the network.
Re: Remote Computer Display
I agree that this is probably the easiest present solution. I would also suggest that the least amount of lag time would come from controlling the display computer via VNC. This also allows for a wireless solution using something like WIFI. --- No Wires no Cables.
