Using Themes

Themes in openlp.org v1.0 can be applied to in both Songs and Bible Verses 3 different ways, depending on the way you wish use theming. These different ways are 'Song level' themes, 'Order-Of-Service level' themes and Global themes and are described below.  Desired theme level and Global theme can be set usingthe 'Theme Settings' page of the 'Settings' window accessed via 'Options->Settings'.

Song Level Theme Use

Song level theming allows the user to specify a specific theme to be used for each Song (configured via 'Edit Song'). In the event that the song theme is set to 'No theme', the Order-Of-Service theme will be used.

Order-Of-Service Level Theme Use

Order-Of-Service level theming allows the user to specify a specific theme to be used for an entire Order-Of-Service. Even if the individual songs have specific themes assigned to them, the OOS theme will be used.

Global Theme Use

The Global theme is the easiest method of using themes.  By setting the Global theme in the settings dialog, or by double-clicking on a theme image in the Theme Manager at runtime, the global theme will be used for all Songs/Verses displayed from that point on.  Note that slides currently being projected will retain their current theme.
